Overview of modules
In order to optimise healthcare, it is important to have the administration of medical data done in a uniform manner. Healthcare increasingly relies on data collected and managed in medical databases.
Systematic coding (ICD-10, previously ICD-9) has been used in Belgian hospitals for 30 years. Hospital financing by the government is based on this registration.
ICD-10 Pulmonology and Case Discussion
The pulmonology training takes half a day and provides an in-depth exploration of coding related to the lungs, pleura, thoracic wall, respiratory muscles, and airways.
In the afternoon, the instructor will discuss complex coding cases submitted in advance by participants. These cases may be related to pulmonology, but other topics are also welcome!
The training is led by an experienced MZG physician.
This course is offered only in Flanders.
ICS-10-PCS Coding of procedures
The ICD-10 Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS) is a classification system for procedures and interventions, in contrast to ICD-10-CM, which contains only diagnosis codes.
This training provides an in-depth, full-day session on the correct coding of procedures.
The course is taught by an expert with many years of experience in surgery.
The training is offered in both Flanders and Wallonia.
Anatomy in the dissection room
Anatomy in the Dissection Room
This unique course offers an in-depth understanding of human anatomy through practical experience in the dissection room. During this course, you will explore anatomy through hands-on learning, guided by expert instructors. From studying the structures of the human body to understanding their functions and interrelationships, this training provides a valuable opportunity to discover and comprehend the complexity of human anatomy.

Although MSF must be coded by specialty, the coding rules are limited to the major body systems. During this training we will therefore zoom in on a few specific surgical specialties, starting from clinical practice.
